The Great Wall - #00026

The Great Wall extends over 3,000 miles. Most of The Great Wall is not is such good repair.
The section near Peking ( Beijing) is well maintained and a very popular tourist attraction. It is next to impossible to get a photo
without people climbing on it as tour busses arrive early in the morning and when they leave the wall is closed.
Parts of the wall that are not in good repair can be photographed without people.
There are some sections that the government has closed but allow select photographers
on to take pictures, mostly government photographers.
I was not so fortunate so I had to travel to a remote spot near Mongolia to get this photo.

Multi purpose vehicle - #00005


These farm vehicles have the large belt on them that is quickly changed
from powering the vehicle to water pump into the rice fields
or other uses on the farm since many small farms
have only one vehicle and need to get as much use as possible out of them.

This is a child in a small town in Guangxi providence of China
waiting for a ride to school.
The small towns in China do not have schools and childern must travel up to 100 miles
to get to school each day. Public transportation is not available in small towns.

This Rhino is actually named white because of a misinterpretation
of the language. It is really named for it's wide mouth rather than its color.

Flightless two towed bird that stands 5’ tall.
They are known for their plumage.
In recent years the birds have been farmed for their eggs, skin, plumage (feathers)
and also low fat meat.

Rare Mountain Gorilla with baby - #00021

This gorilla is indigenous to Africa along the equator and in the Kiva highlands.
They are the largest of the Anthropoids.
Gorillas are vegetarians and the Mountain Gorillas are endangered species now.

Resides in my back yard. I feed him when I am around.
He will come up to my patio when I am working and I will
feed him some peanuts. He takes them and runs away to eat them.

Portuguese Man Of War Jellyfish - #00001

This is a large Physalia Physalis (jellyfish) and was photographed washed up on shore
in Miami Beach, Florida. Swimmers are often stung by the jellyfish which float on the surface
and have Tentacles with stinging cells that dangle and can be as long as 165’.

This alligator is around 12’ and the photo was taken in the Florida Everglades.
The blue color on the gator was added in Photoshop.
The natural color was greenish brown
Once hunted so much as to put them on the endangered species list
they are now are no longer endangered and are often farmed now.
